Adult day service centers play a vital role in supporting the well-being of participants by providing opportunities for a richer and more enjoyable life. Designed for adults aged 18 and older with intellectual or developmental disabilities, these programs enable participants to engage in meaningful roles that align with their interests and choices.
How it Works:
The center-based program offers personalized, person-centered activities that take place outside of the home. Services are tailored to meet the individual needs and preferences of each participant. Activities focus on education, social interactions with peers, increased community access and integration, improved nutrition and healthy living, as well as the development of independent living skills.
Participants gather at the Easterseals center for organized activities and then are taken in small groups to community-based events that match their interests and individual service plan (ISP) goals. Weekly plans are created with input from each individual.
