Taylor Puts Her Criminal Justice Degree to Work
With a degree from Clayton State University and a goal of beginning her career in criminal justice, Taylor connected with Easterseals Southern Georgia for support. Today, she is putting her education into practice as a member of the Jury Room team at the Dougherty County Government Center.
Taylor began with Workplace Readiness Training, where she sharpened her professional skills, developed a résumé, and practiced interviewing. Her Vocational Specialist recognized her abilities and potential and helped her navigate the steps toward employment in her chosen field.
Connections at the Dougherty County Government Center led to an opportunity. Taylor applied, interviewed, and was selected to join the three-person Jury Room team.
After more than 90 days on the job, Taylor is enjoying her position, applying what she learned in college, and developing new skills each day. She is also preparing to take on a new responsibility: delivering the Jury Orientation Speech each Friday.
This next step gives Taylor another opportunity to grow professionally and contribute to her team. Her journey reflects the value of connecting education and individual strengths with employment opportunities and personalized support.
Easterseals is proud to celebrate Taylor’s accomplishments as she continues building her career in criminal justice.
