A Lifeline of Care

Sierra has been visiting Easterseals Megan's House Respite Home for eighteen years. She first came in 2007 when she was just eight years old. Sierra and her family chose Megan's House as their respite provider because of the support and specialized care offered by the staff. This relationship continued for several years until the Crews family moved away from the area.

Even after moving, her mother, Darlene, would occasionally reach out to request dates for Sierra to return for a stay whenever they visited the area. Darlene mentioned that she couldn’t find anything comparable to Megan's House while living in North Georgia, so it made sense for them to continue utilizing these services as Sierra transitioned into adulthood.

For families of individuals who require qualified caregivers around the clock, it can be very challenging to step away, even for just a few days. Parents, guardians, and caregivers need opportunities to pause their responsibilities, recharge, address their own health needs, engage in community activities, or simply focus on personal growth and development.
