Riley's Story with Champions for Children

It often feels like a constant rollercoaster: weeks of good health and meeting goals, followed by setbacks when she gets sick. Aside from the significant costs associated with IVIG, medical co-pays, and the three-hour travel to Atlanta for most of her doctor visits, Riley is also active in competitive cheer. Cheerleading has been her passion since she was three years old, and she gives it her all, regardless of how she feels or the numerous challenges she has faced over the years. The conditioning it provides for her body and lungs is incredible.

Riley has been part of the Champions for Children program for many years. When Riley’s parents first heard about this program, they were amazed that help was available for families, regardless of their income level. 

Champions has supported our family in ways I never thought possible, covering expenses for travel to appointments, recreational sports, and medical bills, among other needs. The staff I have communicated with have always been encouraging and caring. Our family and Riley thank Champions for Children and all of the contributors from the bottom of our hearts.
