Serving Veterans and Military Families to Support Their Success
Easterseals partners with veterans to ensure their successful transition to civilian life. For veterans, military spouses, and caregivers, this sometimes includes mental health resources, job training, and housing assistance, helping them build independence and stability.
Our Programs
Veterans Assistance Program
Easterseals Veterans Assistance Program offers a range of services to support those who have served our country. The program is dedicated to helping Veterans thrive in civilian life by connecting them with resources that promote health and wellness, assist in finding meaningful employment, and achieve stable housing.
Supported Services:
- Specialized medical supplies
- Medical diagnostic services
- Therapeutic services – OP/PT
- Counseling
- Environmental modifications
- Travel Reimbursements (medical appointments/job interviews)
- Limited housing financial assistance for security/utility deposits
- Reimbursement for job-related interview expenses, including professional attire
- Legal assistance
- Respite Care for veteran families caring for family members with disabilities
Program Requirements:
- Must have an honorable discharge status verified by the VA

Learning Fire Safety with the Lee County Fire Department
A visit to the Lee County Fire Department gave participants from Easterseals’ Albany Adult Day Center an opportunity to learn about fire safety and meet the people who help keep their community safe. -
Taylor Puts Her Criminal Justice Degree to Work
With a degree from Clayton State University and a goal of beginning her career in criminal justice, Taylor connected with Easterseals Southern Georgia for support. Today, she is putting her education into practice as a member of the Jury Room team at the Dougherty County Government Center. -
Making the Grade: George Turns His Passion into a Career
With a passion for working with young children and a clear career goal, George came to Easterseals ready to build his future. Through CWAT training and Job Placement services, he found an opportunity that matched his interests and put his strengths to work. -
Calvin's Comeback: A New Chapter at the YMCA
After a lengthy illness interrupted his career, Calvin Griffin was ready to return to work. With decades of experience, determination, and support from Easterseals Southern Georgia’s Vocational Services, he found a new opportunity at the Albany Area YMCA.
